Following the directive to pay $148 million in damages for defaming two Georgia poll workers, Rudy Giuliani, the ex-Mayor of New York City, has filed for bankruptcy within days. In his bankruptcy petition, the former personal lawyer of Donald Trump disclosed assets ranging from $1 million to $10 million and liabilities between $100 million and $500 million.
In response to Giuliani\’s choice to seek bankruptcy protection, Ted Goodman, a political adviser and spokesperson for Giuliani, commented that this decision \”should not come as a surprise to anyone.\” He underscored that \”it was not reasonable for anyone to believe that Mayor Giuliani could meet the substantial punitive amount.\”
