Woman, 2 Daughters Run Over By Vande Bharat Train In UP

On Sunday evening, a heart-wrenching incident unfolded in this district, resulting in the tragic loss of a 40-year-old woman and her two daughters, who were struck by the Vande Bharat Express at a manned level crossing. According to law enforcement authorities, the accident occurred as they were crossing the tracks while the gates of the Kasampur manned level crossing were in the closed position.

Superintendent of Police (city) Piyush Kumar Singh has confirmed that the bodies have been dispatched for post-mortem examinations.

Detailing the sequence of events, the police report that Naresh, a resident of Kankarkhera, was pulling a \’rehra\’ (a hand-driven cart), with his wife Mona (40) and their daughters Manisha (14) and Charu (7) seated at the rear of the \’rehra.\’ As they reached the Kasampur manned railway crossing, Naresh moved beneath the railway gate and began traversing the railway track. Tragically, it was at this precise moment that the semi-high-speed train collided with the rear of the cart, resulting in the devastating loss of Mona and her two daughters.
