Russian President Vladimir Putin denies existence of Wagner Group

According to CNN, Russian President Vladimir Putin has denied the existence of the Wagner mercenary group, which recently staged a brief rebellion against the country\’s military leadership. In an interview with Russian newspaper Kommersant, President Putin revealed details about a meeting held at the Kremlin with 35 Wagner commanders, including their leader Yevgeny Prigozhin.

The meeting took place on June 29, just five days after the mutiny occurred on June 24. During the meeting, President Putin provided an assessment of the group\’s actions both on the battlefield in Ukraine and during the events of June 24.
