The Nehru Shopping Complex cries, the largest commercial building, is in dire need of maintenance. Recently, a portion of the stairs has collapsed, leaving steel bars exposed and posing a potential risk to visitors’ safety.
Traders and other visitors are shocked and alarmed by the sight of debris scattered on the stairs. This raises serious questions about the quality of materials used in the building’s construction and the lack of proper upkeep by the Amritsar Improvement Trust (AIT).
The safety of visitors to the complex is a significant concern, but it seems that the AIT is neglecting the issue and not taking adequate action.
“The condition of the building has deteriorated significantly 25 years of its construction. The authorities must take immediate steps to address the situation,” said Arshdeep Singh, a worker at the shopping complex.
