On the special occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Prime Minister Modi paid his respects to Mahatma Gandhi and underscored the enduring relevance of his teachings. Gandhi Jayanti in India also marks \’Swachh Bharat Diwas\’ or \’Swachhta Diwas.\’ This nationwide initiative was initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who collaborated with fitness influencer Ankit Baiyanpuriya for a cleanliness campaign. Responding to Modi\’s call, individuals from various backgrounds, including politicians and students, actively participated in the \’Swachhata hi Seva\’ campaign. Numerous ministries, government agencies, and social organizations united in this collective effort to champion the cause of cleanliness.

In a recent episode of \”Mann Ki Baat,\” Modi called upon all citizens to dedicate \”one hour of shramdaan\” for cleanliness on October 1, considering it a heartfelt tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on the eve of his birth anniversary.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah actively participated in a cleanliness drive in Ahmedabad, symbolically wielding a broom. Likewise, BJP chief JP Nadda also joined the cleanliness initiative, taking part in the drive in Delhi\’s Jhandewalan area.
