Amid persistent fog-like conditions and reduced visibility in northern India over recent days, numerous trains in the national capital are facing delays, as per reports from news agency ANI on December 29.

Approximately 27 trains bound for Delhi, as per rail inquiry., are running behind schedule by a minimum of 4-5 hours, causing significant inconvenience for passengers and their families.

Express trains, including Vande Bharat, are among those experiencing delays. A video from Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station illustrates tardiness in both Rajdhani and Vande Bharat trains.

Passenger Experiences and Statements from Officials

The Dense Fog Causes Major Train Delays is also affecting Anand Vihar Railway Station, where several trains faced delays and cancellations on Friday. Passenger Prashant Kumar noted, “The trains are later than usual this time. Nandankanan Express, coming to Delhi from Bhubaneswar, was supposed to reach at 3.30 pm but it reached Delhi at 12.30 am.”

Earlier in the day, Northern Railways CPRO Deepak Kumar provided a list of trains experiencing delays.

“Trains arriving late in Delhi area dated December 29 are Mumbai CSMT-Amritsar Express, Farakka Express, Himachal Express, Brahmaputra Mail, MCTM Udhampur-Delhi Sarai Rohilla AC SF Express, Lucknow Mail, Danapur-Anand Vihar Terminal Jan Sadharan Express, Raxaul-Anand Vihar Terminal Sadbhavana Express, Jammu Mail, Padmavat Express, and Kashi Vishwanath Express,” stated Deepak Kumar, CPRO, Northern Railways.

Fog Advisory: Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department has issued a Dense Fog Causes Major Train Delays advisory for Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, north Rajasthan, and north Madhya Pradesh.

โ€œDense Fog Causes Major Train Delays Advisory for Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, north Rajasthan, and north Madhya Pradesh: Be careful while driving or outing through any transport. Use fog lights while driving. Be in touch with airlines, railways, and state transport for your journey schedule,” emphasized the weather office.
