Burj Khalifa illuminated in colours of Indian flag on Independence Day: Watch

On the occasion of India\’s 77th Independence Day, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai was adorned with the vibrant hues of the Indian flag (Tiranga) as a tribute to the nation. This towering marvel, renowned as the world\’s tallest building, often illuminates its façade with the national flags of amicable nations during their respective national days or Independence Day celebrations.

A video disseminated by the news agency ANI, now widely circulating on social media, captures the moment when the Burj Khalifa was embellished with the Indian flag, synchronized with the resonant notes of the Indian national anthem \’Jana Gana Mana\’ in the background.

As the footage unfolds, the iconic building features a visual tribute to Mahatma Gandhi through an image and an accompanying text scroll bearing the message: “Happy 77th Independence Day to Mother India. Long live India and UAE friendship. Every home, the Tricolor. Victory to India.”

Simultaneously, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Ruler of Dubai, extended his heartfelt felicitations to India on its Independence Day. He conveyed his well-wishes through X, formerly known as Twitter, by writing, “As India celebrates its 77th Independence Day, I extend my congratulations to the leadership and the people of this great nation. On this joyous occasion, the UAE reaffirms its commitment to building a future of shared prosperity and growth, elevating our partnership to new heights, and exploring new horizons of political, economic, and cultural relations. A mere month ago, on July 15, the Burj Khalifa had radiated the tricolour brilliance of the Indian flag when Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Abu Dhabi. A captivating video chronicles the skyscraper\’s transformation into a canvas for the Indian flag\’s colors, followed by the appearance of a portrait of PM Modi. The video concludes with a message that warmly greeted, \”Welcome honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi.\”
