What is The Difference Between IAS and The IPS/IFS/ IRS?

Indian Police Services (IPS)

Indian Revenue Service (IRS)

The Indian Revenue Service, or IRS, is a division of the Union Ministry of Finance’s Department of Revenue. It deals with the management and accumulation of various direct and indirect taxes for the benefit of the Union Government. It is a part of the central civil service and is a Group A service. IRS has two divisions: IRS (Income Tax) and IRS (Customs and Central Excise).ย  These are mostly affiliated to the departments of income tax and customs, although they are also deputed to several other organisations and divisions. Salary of Civil Servants

The salary for an IAS officer starts from 56000 INR, and can reach up to 2.5 lakh, depending on the years of service provided. The salary for an IPS officer starts from 15000 INR and can reach up to 80000 INR. Further, an IFS officer also earns from 15000 INR to 90000 INR, depending on the experience years provided.
