On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to the late former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at the \’Sadaiv Atal\’ memorial in observance of Vajpayee\’s birth anniversary.
December 25 is designated as the birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, an esteemed leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and a former Prime Minister.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi conveyed his respects on X, expressing, \”On behalf of the entire nation, I extend my heartfelt tribute to the revered former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji, on his birth anniversary. His unwavering commitment to nation-building remains an enduring source of inspiration.\”
PM Modi further stated, \”His steadfast dedication and service to Mother India will continue to inspire, even in his immortal legacy.\”
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recognized that during his tenure as the Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee showcased how stable governments can be advantageous, a tradition that persists today according to PTI reports. Yogi emphasized Vajpayee\’s political acumen, labeling him the \’Ajat Shatru\’ of politics with remarkable abilities to navigate both favorable and challenging situations.
Yogi Adityanath also highlighted the auspicious coincidence of 2024 marking the centenary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee\’s birth. Born on December 25, 1924, various programs are scheduled throughout the year, culminating in a grand celebration on December 25, 2024. The Chief Minister took the opportunity to pay tribute to several personalities.
Acknowledged for his articulate speeches, Atal Bihari Vajpayee played a pivotal role in Indian politics. His political journey commenced with his election to the Lok Sabha in 1957 as a young legislator, reaching its zenith in 1996 when he led the BJP to its inaugural victory in general elections.
During his third term, Vajpayee led a stable government that completed its full term, achieving a historic milestone as the first non-Congress administration to do so. Renowned for his exceptional oratory and widely respected as a skilled politician and statesman, Vajpayee made a resilient comeback after a brief 15-day premiership in 1996, holding the position of the country\’s top leader until 2004.
