Lee Health is extending an invitation to third, fourth, and fifth-grade students, along with their parents, to attend an exciting and free Healthy Lee Sports Expo on July 29, starting from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The event will take place at The Skatium, located at 2250 Broadway St. in Fort Myers. Following the expo, there will be an open skating session from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.
The main objective of the Family Fun Healthy Sports Expo is to provide kids with the opportunity to explore various sports, make new friends, and most importantly, have a great time. Engaging in physical activity is not only enjoyable but also crucial for promoting overall health, well-being, and the development of new skills, boosting self-esteem in children.
During the event, participants will have the chance to try their hand at a variety of sports, including basketball, boxing, soccer, skating, hockey, golfing, martial arts, wrestling, Zumba, and yoga. Additionally, attendees can look forward to delicious food and a bounce house for added enjoyment. Moreover, there will be valuable educational sessions on sports injuries, pediatrics, and heart health.
Engaging in sports is highly beneficial for children, as it aids in enhancing cognitive skills, critical thinking, and teamwork abilities. Furthermore, research has shown that participating in sports can even lead to improved academic performance, as it encourages focus and discipline.
This Sports Expo caters to children of all ages, and early participation in sports can reinforce these valuable life skills effectively. Stephanie Wardein, Lee Health\’s system director of community affairs, expressed her enthusiasm for offering this collaborative opportunity to the community, stressing the importance of finding hobbies or sports that children truly enjoy. Lee Health is proud to be part of this initiative, and events like the Healthy Lee Sports Expo provide fun experiences for the whole family.
Remember, this event is entirely free, and there is no need for registration. Join in the excitement on July 29 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at The Skatium, 2250 Broadway St., Fort Myers.
