A robust western disturbance, signifying the season\’s inaugural occurrence, is on the horizon, poised to bring extensive precipitation to Delhi, Uttarakhand, Punjab, and Haryana. Additionally, there\’s a possibility of significant rainfall and even snowfall in parts of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that this rainy episode will endure across the northwestern and central regions of India for the next four days.
The Meteorological Department (MeT) has reported that, under the influence of this western disturbance, a cyclonic circulation is likely to emerge over central Pakistan and its surroundings within the next 24 hours. This weather system is expected to gain strength further, with the potential for merging with a fresh western disturbance on October 15, as indicated by the IMD.
This meteorological system will impact northwestern and central India from Friday night through October 17. It\’s noteworthy that it will draw moisture from the Arabian Sea, which is likely to result in an increased intensity of rainfall and an expanded geographical coverage across northwestern India during the same period, as per the IMD\’s analysis.
