Following Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla\’s directive to refer BJP MP Nishikant Dubey\’s complaint against Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra to the House Ethics Committee, the committee is now prepared to re-engage in its activities. Dubey has raised allegations that Moitra accepted financial support from a businessman in return for posing questions in Parliament.
In reply to Dubey\’s claims, Moitra has proposed that the Speaker should initially investigate the \”numerous instances of privilege violations attributed to Dubey and other BJP members\” before taking any actions against her.
