MSP for Copra for 2024 season hiked : 

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved a hike in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for Copra for the 2024 season in India. Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur announced the decision, stating that the MSP for milling copra will see an increase of 300 rupees per quintal, and for ball copra, there will be a hike of 250 rupees per quintal compared to the previous season. Government Revokes Recognition of MPhil as a Valid Degree : 

The University Grant Commission (UGC) has issued a notice warning students that pursuing an MPhil degree is no longer recognized. Universities are prohibited from offering MPhil programs, and admissions for the 2023-24 academic year are not allowed. The new regulations, effective since 2022, state that MPhil degrees are not valid. However, MPhil degrees awarded before the notification remain legitimate. Read More
