ED Summons Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal for Questioning in Liquor Scam : 

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been summoned today by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning regarding the Delhi excise policy scam and its associated money laundering case. This marks the third summons for Mr Kejriwal, who also serves as the convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), as he had previously failed to appear before the investigating agency in November and December of the previous year. December Sees a 10% Surge in GST Collections, Reaching Rs 1.64 Lakh Crore : 

In December 2023, the gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue collection reached ₹1,64,882 crore. This figure represents a 10.3 per cent increase compared to the GST revenues in the same month of the previous year. The Finance Ministry added that the Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection has demonstrated a robust growth of 12 per cent, amounting to ₹14.97 lakh crore over the last nine months. In comparison, during the corresponding period in 2022, a total of ₹13.40 lakh crore was collected.  Read More

 

Hamas Deputy Leader Saleh al-Arouri Killed in Beirut :

Saudi Arabia Joins BRICS as Full Member : 

Saudi Arabia has been officially granted full membership in the BRICS group of emerging economies, as reported by Saudi state TV. Riyadh\’s inclusion in the bloc is expected to enhance its international standing. The decision to expand the BRICS group was approved by the leaders of the original five nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) in August, with the addition of Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
