UPSC OTR Registration Process

The procedure for filling the “UPSC Application Form 2025” hasn’t started yet; however, you can refer to the following steps for future UPSC apply online process. 

Step 1: Go to the official UPSC website  and click on the “apply online” button on the homepage. Next, click on the link for “One- time registration (OTR) for examination for UPSC” to proceed.

Directly visit to www.upsconline.nic.in and click on “One- time registration for examinations of UPSC and online application. 

Step 2: Click on the “New Registration” and fill in your basic details such as your name, date of birth, mobile number, your mother’s or father’s name, etc.  

Step 3: Click on submit after filling in your details. If you wish to make any changes to the form, you can click on “Update/ Change here” or simply proceed to click on “I agree” if you have filled in the information correctly. 

Step 4: After submitting your OTR form, you have to login to the portal using your phone no. or email id, then you would be given an OTP to register. Upon entering the OTP, you must create a password to login to the portal to fill your UPSC application form. 

Step 5: Proceed to login the portal. Then, click on Part-1 registration. After reading the instructions to fill the online application form, click on “Yes” to proceed.

Step 6: Fill in other details for the exam application such as educational qualifications, address. Then, continue and click on age relaxation if applicable.

Step 7: Next, fill in the details related to photo identity card, no. of attempts and specific information regarding the UPSC Mains exam.

Note: Be careful while filling in the details for the CSE mains examination, as no change will be allowed to be made later.

Step 8: Next, click on “I agree” to proceed. If you wish to make any change in the details, then click on “Update”. After successful completion, you can print the slip for part 1 registration.  

Step 9: On the Part – II registration page, you need to upload documents such as your photograph, signature, photo identity card. Next, choose your exam center and click on the button “I have read the declaration and agree”. 

Step 10: After the final submission of your registration form, a Registration Number will be provided to you, save it for future reference. You can also view or print your complete application form. 

How to Withdraw UPSC Application Form?

If a candidate decides not to appear for the exam after submitting the UPSC Application Form, they have the option to withdraw their application. The process to Withdraw UPSC Application Form involves logging into the UPSC portal and following the instructions to cancel the application. However, the application fee is non-refundable.

The UPSC Prelims 2025 is scheduled for 25th May 2025, while the UPSC Mains 2025 will commence on 22nd August 2025.

As per the official notification, UPSC has announced approximately 1129 vacancies, including 979 for UPSC CSE 2025 and 150 for Indian Foreign Service.
