UPSC Mains Gs Paper 1 2024 Overview

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducted the Civil Services (Main) Examination 2024 over five days.

General Studies I was conducted on September 21, 2024 (Saturday) during the Forenoon Session (9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon): Paper-II. The paper had a duration of three hours.

The GS Paper 1 typically comprises 20 descriptive questions (Section A and Section b), each requiring analytical and comprehensive responses. The questions are designed to test a candidate’s depth of knowledge, critical thinking, and ability to interlink various topics within the syllabus.

The total marks for this paper are 250 ( 10 questions of 10 marks each and 10 questions of 15 marks each), contributing significantly to the overall ranking in the examination.
