Michaung: Satellite images capture aftermath of Chennai rains

Chennai continues to grapple with challenges following the destructive floods brought about by Cyclone Michaung earlier this week. The continuous rainfall triggered by the cyclone on December 4 and 5 resulted in extensive flooding across the city, causing widespread damage.

While certain areas are slowly returning to normalcy, residents in South Chennai and parts of North Chennai are still facing the repercussions, dealing with issues such as power outages, shortages of essential supplies like milk, and persistent waterlogging.

An analysis of satellite images by India Today\’s OSINT team, obtained from the European Space Agency between November 16 and December 6, highlights evident swelling and overflow of the Arani, Kosasthalaiyar, and Cooum rivers in specific regions.
