In the 11th leg of the Women’s Pro Golf Tour, Seher Atwal produced a strong finish with two late birdies, resulting in a two-over 69 and a share of the first-round lead with Sneha Singh and amateur Mannat Brar. Seher, who had just arrived from Singapore where she participated in the Singapore Ladies Masters, faced initial difficulties, struggling with a series of six pars and a double bogey on the Par-4 seventh hole. She then dropped shots on the 10th and 11th, reaching a total of four-over through 11 holes. However, she managed to regain her composure and ended the round with three more pars and crucial birdies on the 15th and 18th holes.
Sneha also encountered a challenging start, recording bogeys on the second and third holes. Despite two more bogeys, she managed to offset them with birdies on the sixth and ninth holes at the Par-67 Bangalore Golf Club.
Amateurs have been performing exceptionally well in recent weeks on the Hero WPG Tour, and Mannat continued this trend. She began her round with a bogey-birdie-bogey sequence and added another bogey on the seventh hole, resulting in a two-over score at the turn. She then recorded a bogey on the 11th hole but finished strong with a birdie on the 18th, ultimately shooting a 69 on the Par-67 course.
Tvesa Malik demonstrated a remarkable streak, achieving three consecutive birdies between the 10th and 12th holes. Despite a few setbacks, she managed to hang in there and finished with a three-over 70, sharing the fourth place with Durga Nittur and Ananya Datar.
