President Grants Assent to Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Bill 2023 : 

President Droupadi Murmu has approved three crucial criminal justice bills: Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Bill 2023, recently passed by Parliament. The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 replaces the IPC, 1860, introducing community service as a punishment. Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha (Second) Sanhita, 2023 replaces the CrPC, streamlining arrest, prosecution, and bail procedures. The Bharatiya Sakshya (Second) Bill, 2023 replaces the Indian Evidence Act, 1872, applicable to all civil and criminal proceedings. Read More

 

Stealth Guided Missile Destroyer INS” Imphal” : 

Indian Navy will commission its latest stealth guided missile destroyer, INS Imphal, in Mumbai. The ceremony will be attended by Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh. Delivered in October after extensive trials, INS Imphal is the first warship named after a North East city, honoring Manipur\’s role in India\’s freedom struggle. Read more
