Real Madrid come from behind to beat Real Sociedad

Real Madrid mounted an impressive comeback, triumphing 2-1 over Real Sociedad this Sunday, and reclaimed the top position in LaLiga with their fifth consecutive win.

Guided by Carlo Ancelotti\’s leadership, the team extended their impeccable league record, accumulating 15 points and establishing a two-point advantage over Barcelona, who dominated Betis 5-0 in their Saturday fixture.

Real Sociedad secured an early lead when former Madrid player Take Kubo delivered a precise pass to Ander Barrenetxea in the heart of the penalty area. Federico Valverde promptly restored parity, just seconds into the second half, with a powerful strike from the edge of the box that struck the left post before finding the back of the net, marking his first goal of the season.

Valverde expressed, \”Our most commendable trait was our unwavering determination. Despite their numerous chances and an early goal, we remained resolute. The early second-half goal injected fresh determination into us, and I am pleased to contribute in any way possible.\”

In the 60th minute, Joselu elevated Real Madrid to the lead, as he leapt to head the ball into the net from a Fran Garcia cross originating from the left wing.

Joselu, a summer signing, remarked, \”Any team in the league can pose a challenge, and we must address our early concession. Nevertheless, the atmosphere at the Bernabeu, coupled with the support of our fans, empowered us to orchestrate this remarkable turnaround. Scoring goals that benefit the team and secure points brings me immense satisfaction.\”
