On Friday, Shiva Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi mocked the administration led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating, \”If the responsibility rests solely with the Lok Sabha Secretariat and no one is above it, then everything is left to chance.\” Chaturvedi addressed the Parliament security breach of December 13, where two individuals, Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D, breached the Lok Sabha chamber during Zero Hour, releasing yellow gas and chanting \”Tanashahi nahin chalegi\” slogans from the public gallery.
Chaturvedi questioned, \”If India is at war with any country, can it be asserted that only the Army Chief is responsible?\” She added, \”Such a significant incident has occurred in the temple of democracy, and he (Union Home Minister Amit Shah) claims he bears no responsibility.\”
\”When the Parliament was attacked 22 years ago, the MEA responded within 3 days… The then PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee made a statement… Now the PM and the HM are saying they will reclaim PoK and Aksai Chin, but they cannot protect the Parliament. This is absurd,\” remarked Priyanka Chaturvedi.
Both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have faced multiple adjournments in the ongoing Winter Session due to disruptions since the incident. Opposition MPs demanded a statement from the home minister and called for a discussion on the issue. There is also a demand for action against Mysuru BJP MP Pratap Simha, who authorized the entry of at least one of the culprits.
Opposition parties plan to persist in their assertive protests in both Houses of Parliament and push for a statement from Amit Shah on the issue of the Parliament security breach, according to news agency PTI.
In a significant security breach on the anniversary of the 2001 Parliament terror attack, two individuals—Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D—entered the Lok Sabha chamber, released yellow smoke, and shouted slogans during Zero Hour. Simultaneously, two others, including a woman, raised slogans and released yellow smoke outside the Parliament premises. The Delhi Police reported that the security breach was well-coordinated, meticulously planned, and executed by six people, all of whom are now in police custody. While Sagar, Manoranjan, Amol, and Neelam were apprehended on the spot, their accomplice Vishal, in whose house they stayed before reaching Parliament, was detained in Gurugram.
