Plea in HC against DU’s decision to offer admission in 5-year law courses on CLAT score

A plea has been lodged in the Delhi High Court challenging Delhi University\’s choice to admit students into its five-year integrated law programs based on the outcomes of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT UG) 2023.

The plea was brought before a division bench led by Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Sanjeev Narula. In response to a request from DU\’s legal representative for additional time to provide a response, the bench has set a hearing date for August 17.

The Public Interest Litigation (PIL), which questions DU\’s notification released on August 4, advocates for admissions to the five-year integrated law courses to be carried out through the utilization of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2023.
