On Sunday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal issued a strong appeal for the removal of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from the central government, arguing that such a move would represent the \”most profound act of patriotism,\” with the potential to remove the barriers impeding the nation\’s progress. Kejriwal underscored that despite receiving substantial mandates in the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP failed to capitalize on these opportunities to steer the country towards development. Addressing a gathering of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) volunteers, Kejriwal expressed his concerns about the deteriorating state of the country under the BJP\’s leadership.
He went on to state, \”Removing them from power in 2024 would be the ultimate act of patriotism. Only then can the country truly advance. It\’s perplexing to fathom the motives behind some of their decisions. One is left wondering whether these choices truly emanated from them or were influenced by external factors.\”
Kejriwal praised the dedication of AAP volunteers, highlighting the widespread appreciation received from his constituents for the government and party volunteers. He stressed that AAP\’s leaders, including himself, Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain, Atishi, and Saurabh Bharadwaj, lack political backgrounds, making them true representatives of the ordinary citizens. Kejriwal emphasized that AAP\’s leaders are \”aam aadmi,\” in stark contrast to leaders from other parties who sometimes engage in disruptive activities and exploit their positions for personal gain.
Kejriwal also critiqued the BJP\’s actions, particularly the targeting of opposition leaders through raids. He pointed out the inconsistency in their approach, where they might brand a leader as corrupt one day and then welcome them into the party the next, possibly appointing them as deputy chief ministers or ministers.
