Amidst Delhi grappling with the nation\’s most severe air quality challenges, the Delhi police intensified their monitoring of trucks transporting non-essential goods at the Ghazipur and Tikri borders on Friday night. This measure aligns with the GRAP 4 regulations, representing the most rigorous anti-pollution measures in the Central government\’s action plan. As per these regulations, only CNG, electric, and BS VI-compliant vehicles from other states are authorized to enter Delhi, with specific provisions for essential services.
Police teams at the Ghazipur and Tikri borders were seen scrutinizing trucks for adherence to the regulations, allowing passage exclusively to CNG and electric trucks. The city witnessed a slight improvement in air quality on Friday, partly credited to unexpected rainfall.
