On Tuesday, Sharad Pawar, the President of the Nationalist Congress Party, emphasized that any decision regarding the inclusion of the AIADMK in the INDIA alliance would require consultation with the DMK and its leader, MK Stalin.
When asked whether there were plans to bring the AIADMK into the INDIA bloc, Mr. Pawar stated, “The DMK is an associate of INDIA alliance partners. Therefore, no decisions pertaining to this matter will be made without consulting the DMK or Stalin.”
The AIADMK recently concluded its four-year partnership with the BJP and announced its exit from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), indicating its intention to lead a separate front for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
The INDIA alliance is a coalition of 28 opposition parties united with the aim of challenging the BJP-led NDA in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
